Robert Figgers joined T&M in January 2014 and currently serves as a Manager in the Security Consulting Services division. Since joining T&M, he has provided consulting services to a broad range of clients in the financial, business, academic, healthcare and building design and development industries, assisting them in identifying threat and risk and designing threat-based mitigation strategies.
Prior to joining T&M, Mr. Figgers was a Detective assigned to the Counterterrorism Division’s Threat Reduction Infrastructure Protection Section of the New York City Police Department with twenty years of experience and training. He has extensive familiarity with area development and city redevelopment projects; strategic planning; personnel management and training; and emerging security technologies, as well as an expertise in physical security assessments and security planning. Among his notable tasks while with the New York City Police Department, Mr. Figgers was assigned by the Deputy Commissioner of Counterterrorism to the New York City’s Security Structures Task Force as the NYPD’s representative and spokesperson to perform technical review of physical security and development plans for critical infrastructure within New York City. In addition to participating in critical infrastructure projects, Mr. Figgers was also a member of the NYPD Counterterrorism team that was responsible for developing the World Trade Center Campus Security Plan and was involved in a wide variety of design and security-related projects including Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, Barclays Arena, Citi Group Facilities, Pennsylvania Station-Madison Square Garden, MTA Critical Infrastructure Facilities, Goldman Sachs, the New York Stock Exchange, One Police Plaza, MetLife Building and the Hudson Yards Development Project. In addition, Mr. Figgers was a member of a small group of subject matter experts within the NYPD Counterterrorism Division requested by the Deputy Commissioner of Counterterrorism to collaborate on the New York City Police Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau’s ‘Engineering Security Report,’ a report that continues to be used by law enforcement and the private sector today. Mr. Figgers has extensive experience with in-depth collaboration between private organizations, federal, state and local authorities in the development and implementation of counter-terrorist and crime prevention plans and procedures including business continuity planning and recovery assessments.
Mr. Figgers holds a Master’s Degree in Protection Management with a specialization in Security Management and completed the Police Leadership Graduate Program of the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
