Robert Figgers joined T&M in January 2014 and serves as a Manager in the Security Consulting Services division. He provides consulting services to a broad range of clients in the financial, business, academic, healthcare, media, religious and building design and development industries, assisting them in identifying threat and risk and designing threat-based mitigation strategies. Clients benefit from his expertise in identifying risk and prioritizing security solutions by considering threat, vulnerability and impact. Typically, credible threats are identified and vulnerabilities regarding those threats are assessed. Identification and development of specific mitigation measures for each threat area are developed both independently and collaboratively and are assembled and presented to client representatives for incorporation into site-specific safety and security planning. Additionally, Mr. Figgers develops and delivers client-specific training that encompasses a variety of security and personal safety topics, with many focusing on addressing the unique threats faced by each client. Mr. Figgers' ability to reliably perform these services for T&M clients is a result of his dedication and extensive security-related experience obtained both professionally and academically.

Prior to joining T&M, Mr. Figgers was a Detective assigned to the Counterterrorism Division’s Threat Reduction Infrastructure Protection Section of the New York City Police Department with 20 years of experience and training. He has extensive familiarity with area development and city redevelopment projects; strategic planning; personnel management and training; and emerging security technologies, as well as an expertise in conducting physical security assessments and security planning. Among his notable tasks while with the New York City Police Department, Mr. Figgers was assigned by the Deputy Commissioner of Counterterrorism to the New York City’s Security Structures Task Force as the NYPD’s representative and spokesperson to perform technical review of physical security, vehicle interdiction, and development plans for critical infrastructure within New York City. In addition to participating in critical infrastructure projects, Mr. Figgers was also a member of the NYPD Counterterrorism team that was responsible for developing the World Trade Center Campus Security Plan and was involved in a wide variety of design and security-related projects including Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, Barclays Arena, Citi Group Facilities, Pennsylvania Station-Madison Square Garden, MTA Critical Infrastructure Facilities, Goldman Sachs, the New York Stock Exchange, One Police Plaza, Times Square and the  Hudson Yards Development Project. In addition, Mr. Figgers was a member of a small group of subject matter experts within the NYPD Counterterrorism Division requested by the Deputy Commissioner of Counterterrorism to collaborate on the New York City Police Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau’s ‘Engineering Security Report,’ a report that continues to be used by law enforcement and the private sector today. Mr. Figgers has extensive experience with in-depth collaboration between private organizations, federal, state and local authorities in the development and implementation of counter-terrorist and crime prevention plans and procedures including business continuity planning and recovery assessments.

As a New York State Certified Instructor on General Police Topics, Mr. Figgers also served as an instructor and course developer at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Regional Infrastructure Protection Center as a subject matter expert in physical security and threat and risk assessments. Additionally, Mr. Figgers served as an adjunct professor at Briarcliffe College in Bethpage, New York for four years, where he taught undergraduate students in the disciplines of Psychology, Sociology and Criminal Justice.


Mr. Figgers holds a Master’s Degree in Protection Management with a specialization in Security Management and completed the Police Leadership Graduate Program of the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
