Rocco DeBenedetto serves as a Senior Consultant to T&M’s Security Consulting Services division and brings to the company an extensive 30 year background in security and law enforcement. He began his professional career as a Police Officer in the New York City Police Department (NYPD) where he distinguished himself and achieved the rank of Deputy Inspector. His last assignment was serving as the Commanding Officer of Brooklyn’s 84th Precinct, where he was promoted to Deputy Inspector and later designated the Downtown Brooklyn Incident Commander and placed in charge of all police operations during and after the events of September 11th, 2001. In 2002, Mr. DeBenedetto left the NYPD to become the Director of Security at the Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange. At SIAC, he was responsible for protecting critical infrastructure for both the New York and American Stock Exchanges.
Mr. DeBenedetto received his Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Long Island University and presently serves as an Adjunct Professor at both Molloy College and LIU’s School of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses on Workplace Safety, Corporate Compliance, Criminal Justice and other management related topics. In 2015, he published a chapter entitled “Investigations of Police by Police” in The Detective’s Handbook, a book developed as an instructive tool for law enforcement officers and as a college text to be used at several universities offering criminal justice programs.
