On Thursday, October 25, 2018, Courtney Klein, a Consultant in T&M's Security Consulting Services division, was named Chair of the New York Analysts Roundtable (NYAR) and presided over its quarterly meeting, which included presentations by Corning Inc. and a former member of the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.
The mission of the NYAR is to bring together intelligence analysts to discuss intelligence gathering methods and assessment best practices while encouraging networking and educational opportunities for its members. Prior to being named Chair, Ms. Klein served as NYAR’s Vice Chair, Chair of Communications and Vice Chair of Outreach.
Thursday’s meeting included an overview of the development and implementation of a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) presented by Robert Townsend, the Senior Global Security Analyst of Corning Inc. Mr. Townsend also discussed the training provided to GSOC operators in intelligence technologies and the critical response role the operators often serve during an emergency or disaster.
In addition, Dean Baratta, the former Chief of Analysis at the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, spoke about intelligence analyst hiring and what criteria is most important to today’s intelligence organizations.
